Q

How are poly nucleotides formed?

A
  • the joining together of nucleotides (triphosphate)
  • OH group on a 3’ carbon and a phosphate group on the 5’ carbon
  • in a condensation reaction forming a phosphodiester bond\
  • Triphosphates loose 2 of the phosphates so only one is included in the backbone
