It does not follow a number of characteristics such as the Burgess model, local architectural structure etc.

Form over function architecture
Ethnic diversity where no ethnic diversity is the most dominant (over 50%)
Greater inequality and polarisation.
Why is Las Vegas postmodern?
No ethnicity appears dominant.
World wide architecture.
Tourism based economy.
Ranked among highest for violent crime.
How did Las Vegas form?
1931- the Hoover Dam was being built so it drew thousands of workers to a site east of the city. Casinos and entertainment venues opened to meet the needs of the workers where cheap HEP, gangsters and entrepreneurs funded The Strip.
What was built there?
MGM CityCentre built in 2009 costed 8.7 billion dollars and is the most expensive private development in the country.
Pyraminds, the Eiffel Tower and other disfunctional buildings made for aesthetics.
