Q

(IDB) Curran and Seaton’s power and media industries theory - conform or challenge?

A

It challenges it!

Independent films do not fit into their ideas as critical success/social awareness was more important than huge profits.

17
Q

(IDB) Hesmondhalgh’s cultural industries theory - conform or challenge?

A

It challenges it!

With a film about social issues and no stars etc, Ken Loach is not minimising risk. But, he does not care about maximising profit.

18
Q

What was the budget for IDB?

A

£3.5 million
