A
  • View the portion of the liver & R kidney
  • look for free fluid around the Liver & in Morrisons pouch
  • look thru the lower R thorax: supra & infra-diaphragm & superior portion of the R lobe of liver

A
  • view the spleen & L kidney
  • look for free fluid in perispenal region
  • less frequently in the splenorenal region
  • look through L lower thorax: supra & infra- diaphragm & superior portion of the spleen

Pelvis scan

A

Saggital:
- find the bladder, triangular
shaped in this view, & look at Pouch of Douglas in posterior cul-de-sac
- anterior cul-de-sac is lower curve of bladder

Transverse:
- bladder appears rectangular & look for free fluid @ base of bladder
- look at R adnexa; showing uterus & ovary if poss
- look at L adnexa; showing uterus & ovary if poss

Lungs

A

Check IC spaces consecutively for B lines & M-mode sea shore sign = normal

No B-lines & M-mode barcode/stratosphere Sign = abnormal (pos pneumothorax)

Heart

A

Subxiphoid:
- long axis view of the heart
- R vent is closest chamber
- 4 chambers should be visible
- look for pericardial fluid & correct mechanics

Parasternal:
- long axis view of heart again; R vent closest chamber
- can see descending Aorta at deepest sites
- look for free fluid & assess Vol/contractility
