Q

Why is it important to address perception of physical activity

A
  1. Psychological effects are as prominent/important and result in relevant adverse consequences in physical inactivity/participation limitations which leads to downward spiraling and reduced activity (loss of muscle strength and endurance which makes people less sturdy during tasks which leads to further limitation)
  2. Not always concordance between perception of ability and physical performance

Q

Why is it important to test postural stability

A

So you can determine which components are deficit and modify them based on these strategies to improve postural stability shown in image

Q

Examine the next image to determine how you would progress the postural stability found form these results

A

I would prescribe exercises that focus on rigid surface with eyes closed in unilateral stance (left) and an exercise focusing on compliant surface eyes closed in tandem stance.
