What are the CPD requirements and how is it recorded?
A
- Responsibility of members to undertake and record relevant learning, to improve and maintain levels of professional competence.
- 20 hours , 10 hours minimum formal.
- Runs every calendar year and should be recorded on the RICS website or on the app.
- Also there is requirement to undertake learning in ethics and professionalism every 3 years.

How do you define between formal and informal learning?
A
- Formal, structured learning that is not organised by yourself typically includes: professional courses, structured online training and assessment-based learning.
- Informal, Learning the has been organised by yourself typically including: private study, on the job training, reading relevant construction papers / articles.

Can you give an example of some informal and formal CPD you have undertaken?
A
- Formal: I completed an online Cost X training course.
- Informal: I arranged a question and answer session one of the core competencies.
