Introduction to binary

A
  • Binary numbers consists of two numbers 1 and 0.
  • Computer ONLY recognises two numbers
  • A bit is either 0 or 1 meaning i can represent two inputs
  • A byte contains 8 bits

  • Octal base 8 - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
  • Decimal base 10 - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
  • Hexadecimal base 16 - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F
