Describe the dangers of unhealthy environments on people’s health.

A
  1. Dirty water
    Drinking or washing in dirty water can give you diarrhea or even cholera, which you can die from
  2. Dirty air
    smoke and chemicals in the air (air pollution) can give you a cough or sore chest. Can cause disease in your lungs
  3. Illegal dumping sites
    When people throw rubbish in the streets or in open spaces, poisons and germs spread into the soil and water. That can spread disease and make sick

What can you do to help environments healthy?

A
  • pick up rubbish and put it in the bin
  • recycle and reuse
  • make compost from fruit and vegetable peals
  • Plant more flowers/plants/trees because they keep the site clean
  • don’t litter (especially in or near bodies of water)
  • do go to the toilet in or near a river
