O:
-Posterior Iliac crest
-Sacrum
-Coccyx
I:
-Gluteal tuberosity of the femur
-ITB
A: -Extension and lateral rotation of the thigh at the hip joint.
-Upper 1/3 fibres: ABduction of the thigh @ the hip joint.
-Lower 2/3 fibres: Adduction of the thigh @ the hip joint.
-Posteriorly tilts the pelvis @ the hip jt. –Reverse action
N: Inferior Gluteal nerve

O: External Ilium;
b/w Anterior & Posterior Gluteal lines
I: Greater trochanter of the femur
A:
-Abduction of the thigh at the hip joint (entire muscle)
-Ant fibers: Flexion and medial rotation of the thigh @ the hip jt. Anteriorly tilts the pelvis @ the hip joint.
-Post fibers: Extension and lateral rotation of the thigh @ the hip jt. Posteriorly tilts the pelvis @ the hip joint.
