Juvenile onset or insulin dependent diabetes

Type 1 DM is an autoimmune disorder
But why is that?

( it also has a genetic link )

A

Because the body develops antibodies against insulin and or pancreatic B cells that produce insulin resulting in not enough insulin to Survive
