Tessering is a traveling experience in which you travel using the 5th dimension across space and time to get from one far away place to another quickly. In the book it is described as things going black and losing yourself but the regaining yourself again

Mrs. Murry- kind, encouraging, beautiful, nurturing
Calvin’s mom- not loving, neglectful, ugly, abusive (physically and emotionally)
