What is a hydraulic lift?

A
  • Manually operated lift
  • Uses a valve on a cylinder to control the increase and release of pressure
  • Manual lever is used to increase the pressure in the cylinder when the valve is closed
  • Base can be narrowed or widened
  • Patient are supported by a sling
  • Patient weight and the amount the valve is opened determines the rate of descent
