The intellect and will look goodness from different perspectives which we may call internal motivation. A Christian leader needs to sustain the balance between these two to become an effective Christian leader.
Internal motivation is driven by the desires to please God, hence every step is focus toward realizing what the will is drawn to and what the intellect perceived as good.
