evaluation:
•no woodville held great office before 1470 (exception of Richard Woodville)
•Edwards continued to primarily look to Hastings, Herbert and above all Warwick
•Edward continued to reward warwick and sign off estates to him right up until the day he rebelled

•Edward had many natural assets and so had the opportunity to marry well ( form a foreign alliance ) however he wasted it by marrying Elizabeth ( May 1464)
• humiliated Warwick because marriage was secret and warwick arranged marriage between Edward and Bona and Savoy - humiliated warwick and offended louis XI who had promised Warwick Holland and Zealand if he could secure and alliance between England and France
• on its own not very convincing but when combined with edwards actions and policies it becomes detrimental to the breach between Edward IV and Warwick due to the promotion of the woodvilles that followed
• If Edward didn’t promote the woodvilles so excessively then the marriage itself wouldn’t have had any major impact on their relationship - unconvincing argument
• marriage was in 1464 and Warwick didn’t rebel until 1469
