EIM Flashcards
{ POWER }
WORK
It’s a force of any kind causes motion.
ELECTRIC POWER
A voltage applied to a conductor causes electron to flow.
VOLTAGE
Is the force and electron flow in a motion.
POWER
The rate w/c work is done.
- it consume in a resistor.
- symbol ( P ).
- power measure in watts ( W ).
WATTS
Rate work is done in a circuit.
- 1 amp flow w/ 1 volt applied.
POWER FORMULA;
Voltage times current:
P = E× I
Or
P = EI
Power substitute by Ohms Law:
P = I²R
And
P = E²_
R
HEAT
Current flow through resistive material causes _.
MAGNETISM
An integral part of electricity.
( 3 ) TYPES OF MAGNETS;
- Horse shoe
- Bars
- Compass needle
( 2 ) CHARACTERISTICS OF MAGNETS
- ATTRACT
And - HOLD IRON
( 2 ) MAGNETIC POLE;
- One North pole
- One South pole
INVISIBLE MAGNETIC LINE OF FLUX
It leaves the north pole and enters the south pole.
ELECTROMAGNETISM
A magnetic field generated by current flow in a conductor.
COIL
A wire carrying a current, acts as a magnet.
LEFT HAND RULE
It exists for the coil to DETERMINE the DIRECTION of the MAGNETIC FIELD.
- left finger hand wraps around the coil.
- thumbs point around the north pole.
