  • Renal loss (minerlocorticoid excess, diuretics, renal tubular disease, osmotic diuresis, increased sodium delivery to distal nephron)
  • Redistribution (insulin, alkalosis, beta-agonists)
  • Rare (renal tubular acidosis type 1 and 2, hypomagnesaemia)
