2
Q

Use the molar volume in calculations
involving solids and gases in reactions.

A

molar volume (dm⁻³ mol⁻¹) = gas volume (dm⁻³ ) ÷ number of moles (mol)

3
Q

Recall Avogadro’s law.

A

Avogadro’s law states that under the same conditions the same number of moles of different gases all occupied the same volume.

one mole of any gas always occupies 24 dm³ or 24,000 cm³ at room temperature and pressure (= 20 degrees and 1 atmosphere)
