X15 is this kind of speaker

A

POINT SOURCE - which means you can point it and it is it’s own source … unlike an array which is meant to be part of LINE .. ARRAY speakers throw wide but not high .. Point source speakers throw a pretty even metric of sound.

The L-Acoustics X15 is a powerful and versatile loudspeaker family within the X Series, offering two variations: the X15 HiQ and the X15 HF. Both excel in live sound reinforcement and production applications, so let’s delve into their specifics:

X15 HiQ: (We have 12 of these)

15-inch low-frequency transducer and 3-inch compression driver: Delivers impactful and clear sound with accurate and controlled directivity. Enhances high-frequency directivity and reduces off-axis coloration, ensuring consistent sound quality across the coverage area.

High SPL (Sound Pressure Level): Up to 138 dB, ensuring clarity and power even in the loudest environments.

L-Vents™ laminar vents: Reduce port noise and allow for higher output without compromising sound quality.

Applications: Primarily used as a stage monitor for musicians due to its strong vocal impact and immunity to feedback.

Also suitable for near-field sound reinforcement and front-fill systems.
________________________________

Both X15 variations share some key strengths:

Rugged construction: Built with high-quality materials for long-lasting performance and weather resistance.

LAcoustics Kiva speaker system

The Kiva is a two-way system, which means that it has two drivers: a woofer and a tweeter. The woofer is a 6.5-inch transducer, and the tweeter is a 1.75-inch diaphragm compression driver. The speaker has a horizontal coverage of 110 degrees and a vertical coverage of 15 degrees.

One of the things that makes the Kiva unique is its Wavefront Sculpture Technology (WST). WST is a patented technology that uses a series of waveguides to shape the sound of the speaker. This helps to create a more even and predictable sound field, which is important for live sound reinforcement.

The Kiva is also a very versatile speaker system. It can be used in a variety of configurations, depending on the size of the venue and the needs of the application. It can be flown from the ceiling, stacked on the ground, or used as a ground stack.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the L-Acoustics Kiva:

Pros:

Compact size
High-quality sound
Versatile
Durable
Cons:

Expensive
Requires a lot of power
Not as powerful as some other line array systems
Overall, the L-Acoustics Kiva is a great line array speaker system for a variety of applications. It’s compact, versatile, and sounds great. However, it is also expensive and requires a lot of power. If you’re looking for a high-quality line array system for a small to medium-sized venue, the Kiva is a great option. But if you’re on a budget or need a system for a large venue, you may want to consider other options.

Quality sound control

There are actually several key differences between a QSC K12 and a QSC K2, both in terms of features and overall design:

Generation:

K12: This is the older generation of QSC powered loudspeakers, first released in 2013. It’s still a popular choice for its robust build and dependable performance.
K2: This is the newer generation, launched in 2021, representing a significant upgrade on the K12.
Sound:

K12: Known for its clean and powerful sound, the K12 excels in various applications, but might exhibit some high-end harshness depending on the material.
K2: The K2 boasts a refined and smoother sound with improved clarity and extended low-end response. It offers more nuanced control over EQ and voicing options.
Features:

K12: Offers basic controls like mic/line input with gain, high-pass filter, and LED level metering. No DSP control or onboard effects.
K2: Integrates a full-featured DSP with extensive EQ control, speaker voicing presets, delay, and even onboard limiting for system protection. Additionally, it has a built-in mixer with Bluetooth and aux input capabilities.
Design:

K12: Traditional plastic cabinet design with separate pole cups for vertical or down-tilt positioning.
K2: Features a sleeker fiberglass reinforced ABS cabinet with a single, dual-position pole cup for improved stability and easier setup.
Other Differences:

Weight: The K2 is slightly heavier than the K12.
Price: The K2 is priced higher than the K12 due to its advanced features and design.
