What is the test for glucose?

Answer 1

1. Add Benedict’s solution to a sample of food (in solution)
2. Place in a water bath at 80oC for 5 minutes.
3. If a sugar is present the colour will change from blue to brick red. If it is green, yellow, or orange it is still a positive result but will have a lower concentration of the sugar.
