Q

Surgical Importance Of Marginal A of durmmond

A
  • It connects all Arteries, thus creating channels between Superior & inferior mesenteric As, it also give direct branches to colon (vasa recta)
  • Therefore it can maintain** Viability **of Long segments of Colon after division of major Colic Branches
  • this allows for possibilty of Colon bypass surgery

Q

Lymph nodes Receiving drainages of Colon

A
  • Epicolic LN: on wall of bowel
  • Paracolic LN: between Marginal A and bowel
  • Intermediate nodes: along Colic Arteries
  • Central Nodes: along superior & inferior mesenteric Arteries

Q

Parasympathetic Nerve supply of Colon

A

divided into 2 groups:
* Caecum, ascending & right 2/3 of transverse Colon= Vagus N
* Left 1/3 transverse Colon, descending & Sigmoid Colon= Pelvic Splanchnic N (Nervi erigente) from S2,3,4
