Q

traction precautions

A

-significant structural disease of the spine
-pressure from belts is hazardous (pregnancy)
-disc extrusion or sequestration
-medial disc protrusion
-pain completely abolishes after tx (check myotome, dermatome, DTR)
-pt unable to tolerate prone or supine position
-claustrophobia
-altered mentation
-cervical sling traction w TMJ symptoms
