what is the reflex arc?
A
stimulus is dectected by the receptor - hot
electrical impulses pass from receptor along sensory neuron to cns
end of sensory neuron there is the synapse- chemical is released- diffuses across to a relay neurone in cns- triggers an electrical impulse
passes across relay neuron passes to another synapse- chemical released
sets off motor neurone - passes down to motor neurone to effector
contracts and pulls hand away from heat
