Jetstar Fuel Policy Flashcards

1
Q

Pre flight fuel requirements

A

Taxi (A320/A321 120kg)

Flight fuel (commencement of TKOF to completion of LDG)

Alternate (missed at dest, Fly to Alt, approach and land)

Variable reserve ( 5% FF. Min 5min at fixed reserve rate)

Fixed reserve (30min @ holding, 1500ft, min FOB @ completion of LDG) (-A320 1200kg, A321 1500kg, Neo 1100kg)

Holding Fuel (INTER/TEMPO/TS) Prob 30 not considered

ETP Build up (fuel to meet crit fuel scenarios and assume only taxi and flight fuel consumed before ETP)

Q

Flight Fuel and does it include fuel of SID/STAR?

A

Fuel required from commencement of TKOF (TKOF THRUST) to completion of LDG roll at destination.

Yes they include fuel to account for SID/STAR onto intended runway.

A320 = 100kg, A321 = 125kg, Neo = 100kg

A

5% of flight fuel
Not less then 5min at fixed reserve rate
Is not applied to Alternate fuel or in flight requirements.

Q

Fixed reserve

A

Fuel calculated for 30min of holding fuel at 1500ft

Is the min amount of FOB at completion of the landing roll.

A320 = 1200kg, A321 = 1500kg, Neo = 1100kg

Q

Holding Fuel

A

Calculated at FL200 for anticipated temperature.

Is used to cover
- Traffic holding
- INTER/TEMPO
- Conditions Likely to delay landing

10
Q

What is simultaneous weather and traffic holding fuel?

A

TEMPO = Traffic holding added to TEMPO. If total >80min an alternate is to be planned.

INTER = Traffic holding added to INTER. If total >60min and alternate is to be planned.

Q

What happen if an alternate incurs a payload penalty?

A

Dispatch contact JOCC and the Duty pilot.

If an alternate is not necessary then destination holding fuel is planned to resolve payload issue.

Q

Thunder Storms Forecast

A

Pre dispatch = if INTER TS forecast at destination or Alternate then 60min holding fuel is to be carried, payload permitting.

Need not be considered unless weather conditions below the applicable minima.

If a conditional forecast is less than PROB 40, TS need not be considered unless below landing minima for expected approach.

Q

Taxi Fuel and its APU allowance

A

Fuel expected to burn from re fuelling to completion of TKOF.

APU allowance = 30min (A320 = 120kg, A321/Neo = 120kg)

Q

ETP Build Up

A

Is additional fuel to meet critical fuel scenario requirements to
- Proceed to the alternate
- satisfy weather conditions
- Hold for an additional 15min @ fixed reserve rate
- Conduct an approach and land

Assumed Variable Reserve intact at the ETP. Only Taxi and flight fuel has been burnt.

Q

Company approved variation (AV8) = min planned fuel over destination

A

60min endurance

Can be reduced to not less than 45min as long as min preflight requirements are met.

Dispatch will always consult PIC before reducing to 45min.

19
Q

Re clearance procedures

A

Is a means of reducing fuel requirements by calculating variable reserve on the flight fuel required from the current re clearer point to the destination.

No taxi fuel as it’s already been burnt.
