Q

What is the equation for calculating net buoyant force?

A

FB= F bottom- F top= p fluid . G. A (H2-H1)= p fluid. G. V displaced , where V displaced is the volume of the fluid displaced by the object.

Q

With the experimental apparatus, what is the force sensor able to measure? How does this value change as the object is lowered into the water?

A

It’s only able to measure the force pulling down on the object. As it is submerged, the magnitude of the measured force decreases since there will be a buoyant force acting on the object.
