Q

How do name servers work within the DNS (Domain Name System)

Q

What is an IP address? What binary value does it use?

A

Number used to identify each device on a given network using a 32 bit binary value expressed as four decimal numbers, separated by periods

18

Internet protocol (IP) - think IP address

23
Q

What is a packet made up of?

A

A number of fields contained within a header section plus a payload

24
Q

Which part of a friendly URL is managed by the DNS and is dependent on a name resolution service?

A

Top level domain (TLD)

25
Q

What is a protocol type

A

A part of the web address that describes the access method being used Example: HTTP://

Q

What is a file path?

A

Part of the web address that specifies directory and file name location

27
Q

What are the key features of a packet switching network?

A

Nodes within the network can perform a forwarding function, allowing a packet to utilize any available path through the network
