Wrist/Hand Flashcards

1
Q

Scaphoid

A

On lateral side of carpus, just proximal to distal wrist crease the tubercle can be palpated. Just medial to radial styloid. Can be pinched between thumb and finger if on the tubercle and in the anatomical snuff box on the dorsal surface

Q

Radial & Ulna styloid Processes:

A
  • Ulna styloid is posterior part of ulna at the distal end (medial side of forearm)
    • Radial styloid is lateral part of radius at the distal end (lateral side of forearm). Inside anatomical snuff box

Q

Surface marking of Radio-Carpal joint

A

A line drawn between the styloid processes of the radius and ulna, being slightly concave distally and increasing curved as it reaches the styloid processes.

Q

Identify and mark on your model the flexor retinaculum

A

The flexor retinaculum attaches medially to pisiform and the hook of Hamate and laterally to the Scaphoid tubercle and to both lips of the groove on the trapezium.
