ang pronouns

A

pronouns that substitute for nouns marked by ang markers. Other ang pronouns: ako, ka, tayo, kayo, sila. These are in ang form meaning they’re used as the subject in sentence.

Identificational Sentences

A

A sentence composed of two major elements: a subject & predicate w/out a verb. Subject (S) = Predicate (Prdct). In this type of sentence both S & Prdct are in ang form. Identificational senttis only structure in Tagalog where two ang forms are utilized. This form normally used to answer Sino Q’s.

Predicational Sentence

A

Most common type of sentence in Tagalog. Word order = Prdct then S. Prdct does not have any markers while S marked by ang. Ex: Guro si Martha. Pulis ang lalaki.

A

An eclitic that turns an affirmative sentence into a question. Ex:

Interrogative Statement

A

Type of Predicational Sentence. A statement or Q that can be answered w/Oo or hindi. Formed using Q marker - ba. Ba placed after Prdct, but when S is monosyllabic (like ka), ba goes after S instead.

A

Short affirmative response to a Q or statement (?) Formed by using Oo/Opo/Oho B4 affirmative statement. Oo/Opo/Oho punctuated by a period. Opo. Taga-Pasig ako.

Negative Response

A

Short negative response to a Q or statement (?). Formed by adding hindi followed by a period before either affirm statement or neg statement. When hindi B4 affirm - statement must supply correct information. When hindi followed by neg statement - statement restates same info as Q in negative form. Hindi. Hindi taga-Cebu ang phrase. Hindi. Taga-Pasay siya.
