Cabin Altitude Warning or Rapid Depressurisation

A
  1. Oxygen masks and set 100%
  2. Establish crew comms
  3. Pressurisation mode selector… MAN
  4. Outflow VALVE switch… Hold in CLOSE until outflow VALVE indication shows fully closed.
  5. If Uncontrollable cabin alt…
    Passengers signs… ON
    PASS Oxygen switch - ON

Emergency Descent

A
  1. Announce the emergency descent. PA to advise cabin crew. PM to advise ATC and get Area altimeter setting
  2. Passenger signs… ON
  3. No delay, descent to the lowest safe alt or 10,000ft (higher)
    4.Engine Start switches (both)… CONT
  4. Thrust levers (both) reduce to minimum or as needed for anti-ice
  5. Speedbrake… FLIGHT DETENT
  6. Set target speed to Mmo/Vmo

(if structural integrity is in doubt limit speed as much as poss and maneuvering loads)

Engine Fire or Severe Damage or Separation

A
  1. Autothrottle… Disengage
  2. Thrust lever (affected engine)… Confirm… Close
  3. Engine start lever (affected engine)… Confirm… CUTOFF
  4. Engine fire switch (affected engine)… Confirm… Pull (press override and pull)
  5. If Engine Fire Switch or ENG OVERHEAT light is illuminated:
    Engine fire switch… Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 sec

Still illuminated after 30s:
Rotate to the other stop and hold for 1 sec

Loss of Thrust on Both Engines

A
  1. ENGINE START switches (both)… FLT
  2. Engine start levers (both)… CUTOFF
  3. When EGT decreases:
    Engine start levers (both) … IDLE detent
  4. If EGT Reaches a redline or no increase in 30 seconds:
    • Engine start levers (affected engine)… Confirm… Cutoff, then IDLE detent
    • If reoccurs repeat

  1. Don oxygen masks, regulator ro 100%
  2. Establish crew comms
  3. Pressurisation mode selector… MAN

    Passengers signs… ON
    PASS OXYGEN switch… ON

Runaway Stabiliser

  1. Control column… Hold firmly
  2. Autopilot… disengage
  3. Autothrottle… disengage
  4. Control column and thurst levers… Control airplane pitch attitude and airspeed
  5. Main Electric stab trim… Reduce control column forces
  6. If runaway stops after the autopilot is disengaged…
    DO NOT re-engage autopilot or autothrottle (END)
  7. If continues…
    STAB TRIM cutout switch (both)… CUTOUT
    IF continues…
    Stabiliser trim wheel… Grasp and hold

  1. IF intermittent warning horn sounds or CABIN ALTITUDE light illuminates IN FLIGHT above 10,000ft…
    Don masks 100%
    Establish Crew coms
    Go to CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING
  2. If intermittent warning horn sounds or a TAKEOFF CONFIG light illuminates ON GROUND:
    Ensure correct airplane takeoff configuration
