When something or someone is in contact with the surface
For example: the book is on the table; my bag is on the chair
AT
unique specific location
For example: I am at work; I am at the BBC
Above and Below
Indicates being at a higher position than something else.
Indicates being at a lower position than something else.
Behind
Indicates being situated at the back of something.
My home is behind the Costa e Silva Avenue
Beside/next to
Indicates being next to or alongside something.
Between
Indicates being in the space separating two objects or locations.
Under/over
under means behind and over means above and up
