What are the physical factors for economic inequality
Poor farmland - if land is steep or has no soil it will be hard to make crops to produce food
Poor climate - lack of growth, malnutrition, poor quality of life
Few raw materials - fewer products to export, less money
What are economic factors for uneven development?
Poor trade links - world trade patterns influence a country’s economy, affects trade relationships, less money
Economy based on primary products - primary products make less money than manufactured products
Debt - borrowed money must be paid back so less money is used for development
Causes of uneven development
Colonisation - colonised countries at a lower development level. European countries removed raw materials from countries
Conflict - slow or reduce development as money is spent on training/arms instead of developing
