16
Q

How long can batteries last ?

A

1 hour max depending state they were in and what equipment is used

17
Q

What power are pantos?

A

Electro mechanical

18
Q

Where is the panto crank handle located? *

A

2nd cabinet behind door No 2
A side no. 2 end

19
Q

What must we do prior to raising panto manually?

A

Trip the Panto MOTOR MCB of the affected car

… once we have raised it
Then reset the Panto MOTOR MCB
THEN the self excite button
Activate cab
Press panto up button
Do a panto test

If other pantos don’t raise trip the Panto motor MCB again and report TMM fault

20
Q

How and why would we manually lower a panto?

A

If it’s defective

Stable train
Trip out Panto motor MCB
Manually lower using crank handle
Leave MCB tripped
Report TMM

21
Q

What force is used to operate doors?*

A

Electro mechanical

22
Q

What can the door control module do?

A

Sends commands from door release and close buttons to the door

Isolates defective doors and reboots computer attempting to rectify the fault

23
Q

What is the door Control module button for?

A

If door is not in sync with other doors, you press the button and it forces door in the opposite position

Button is to the left of each door

24
Q

Door out of order indicator button does what?

A

Illuminates when:

  • a door has been isolated
  • door control unit is defective
  • flashes if door system has failed
25
Q

When do door release buttons operate?

A

Only from an active cab
When the train is stationary

26
Q

How long does the warning tone sound for when the driver presses the door close & lock button

A

4 seconds

The button will flash until doors close

27
Q

After how long and
How many times will doors attempt to close when there is an obstruction

A

3 seconds

3 times

Remains open until driver presses door close button

28
Q

Where are the DERs located?

A

LHS of every door

29
Q

What indicators are there that a DER has been pulled?

A

DER indicator will illuminate in active cab
A FDCL
Audible warning buzzer
CCTV will come on automatically

When key is in controller DER is very difficult to open but driver can respond when key is in

30
Q

What can manually apply the EMERGENCY brake ?

A

• EMY stop Button
• MC into EMY
• any control that causes Dead Man feature to become active
• Master key switch in OFF position

• Tripping out the FACES MCBs

31
Q

How do we reset the EMY brake?

A

Put MC into 0 - Coast once train is stationary

32
Q
