What is alliteration?
When you use the same letter at the beginning of two or more words E.G. the loud lion was lying on ground.
What is personification?
When you give an inanimate object human qualities E.G. the tree’s branches were waving in the wind
What is “emotions”?
Describing feelings, E.G. she was smiling (to show that she was happy).
What is sensory language?
When you describe the 5 senses, E.G. vision, feeling, hearing, smelling and tasting.
What is simile?
When you compare two nouns using as or like. E.G. the king’s diamond crown was as shiny as the moon
What is triplets?
When we use three words or phrases in a row, E.G. the weather was cool, rainy and gloomy.
What is onomatopoeia?
When words sound like what they mean, E.G. tick, bang, boom, whoosh.
What is metaphor?
When you compare two nouns without using as or like. E.G. The diamond on the king’s crown was a shiny moon.
What is pathetic fallacy?
When the weather reflects the mood or atmosphere. E.g. The rain poured and thunder sounded as they lost the football match.
What is Hyperbole?
