What is a social theory?
A social theory is a theory that is analyzed for a social phenomena.
What are similarities of the theorists learned?
- they all concentrated on human development.
- they all used structural models
What are differences between the theorists.
They all targeted different aspects of human development.
What are infant reflexes?
They are involuntary responses presents in infants.
Examples of infant reflexes:
- Moro reflex
- sucking reflex
- grasping reflex
Why are infant reflex’s important?
They are important for the survival and development of infants during their early years
What are the 4 areas of development?

-emotional
-physical
-cognitive
What are taratogens?
They are substances or factors that cause deformation and abnormalities in the development of a fetus during pregnancy
Possible effects of a teratogen?
-physical abnormalities
-mental defects
-cognitive issues
-social issues
Example of a teratogen?
Drugs, alcohol, environment, food, etc
What are the effects of sleep deprivation?
- Affects memory, attention span, and decision making
- increases mood swings, and difficulty managing stress
- linked to weak immune function, and chronic conditions
-impulsive behaviour, reduced motivation
