What is the Shema
A
It’s the Jewish Declaration of prayer - said at the beginning of any prayer. Reminder that all prayers are directed towards God

What is the Amidah
A
It means standing prayer and is considered the most important prayer in services that take place on weekdays

A
First three praise and ask God for mercy
Middle 13 ask for God’s help
Final 3 are thanking God for being able to serve him

A
It’s a Doxology which means hymn of praise to God, used at the end of main section of synagogue services.
