Fluvioglacial Landforms Flashcards

1
Q

Kames

A

Form at the front of a melting ice sheet, typically unsorted.
Kame terraces are the most extensive as they are formed by infilling marginal glacial lakes
Kame deltas are mound shaped hills on the valley floor as a melt water stream enters a marginal lake
Crevasse kames are formed in a crevasse as melt water deposits sediment inside
