A

Start EMS. Calm victim, loosen, constricting, clothing, keep them still, maintain body temperature
Symptoms- weak, fainted, feel like they want to vomit, chest hurts, one side of their body lost feeling and/or movement, pale, dizzy

A

A

Life-threatening-start EMS
Signs no sweat on 100° day, fatigue, dizziness, fever, faint
Treatment-cool victim immediately
get them inside to AC, or at least the shade if no AC, give them a cool bath

What does R.I.C.E. stand for?

A

Rest= don’t use it, ice=up to 72 hours not consecutively, compression= wrap injury, elevate=get injury above the heart

What is EMS? (Emergency Medical Service)

A

Call 911, tell them what is going on with your victim, stay calm. This helps prevent further injury

What is CPR?

A

Cardio pulmonary, resuscitation, a life saving technique when you massage the heart and breath for the victim

What is heat exhaustion?

A

Dizzy, flu like symptom on 100° day, not life-threatening at first, but can be if not recognized. Can lead to heat stroke. Treatment- cool victim, send to AC, no more activity for 24 hours

A

Start EMS, Stop fluid loss if any, maintain body temperature, if pale raise the tail, if they’re red raise the head
