The framework of the body, support and protects the internal organs.
What does Bone stores?
Calcium, mineral required for normal nerve and muscle function.
What is Cartilage?
Smooth, elastic connective tissue, acts as a shock absorber between bones.
Cartilage makes up the flexible parts of the body such as?
The outer ear and the tip of the nose.
What is a Joint?
The point where two or more bones meet together surrounded by ligaments, tendons and muscles that hold the joint together.
What does Synovial Membranes line?
The outermost layer of a joint and secrete synovial fluid.
Why the Synovial Fluid acts as a lubricant?
To reduce friction and make the smooth movement of the joint possible.
What is a Ligament?
A band of fibrous tissue that connects bones or joins a bone to cartilage.
