  • For some denominations such as quakers, they will worship when they feel prompted by holy spirit

  • often involves dancing/ clapping

  • in 1858, a young girl called Bernadette had visions of Mary in a cave near a river, who told her to dig for a spring of water as it was discovered to have healing properties
  • Thousands travel here every year to pray in the cave, and bathe in the water
    -these people are often ill or disabled, in search for a cure/miracle
