Stheneboea

A

Stheneboea was the daughter of King Jobatesof Lycia in Greek mythology. She married Proetus, who was the king of the Greek region of Argolis, along with Acrisius. When Bellerophon visited the court of Argolis, she fell in love with him and tried to seduce him. However, she was rejected, which infuriated her and lied to Proetus, saying it was Bellerophon who made advances towards her. Proetus did not want to violate the hospitality rule and kill a guest, so he sent Bellerophon to Jobates. Jobates gave him a series of impossible tasks which would definitely lead to the death of Bellerophon, but the hero successfully managed to complete all of them.
