Q

Mendelian Laws:

A
  • Male & Female contribute equally to inheritance (diplioid)
  • Traits can dissapear across generation
There are versions of each factor (Allele)
  • Traits can dissapear across generations(dominants versus recessive

Q

REMEMBER Mendels Laws:

A
  1. Law of independent Assortment- seperation of alelles for one gene occurs independently of the seperation of alelles for any other given gene(they happen randomly)
  2. Law of segregation- alelles are seperated when haploid gametes form
  3. Principle of dominance- recessive alleles will be masked by dominant alleles

Q

Polymerase chain reaction

A

1: Denaturation, heat seperated strands (no helicase)
2: Annealing, primers designate copying sequence
3: Elongation, Taq polymerase copies the sequence
