A

Unrecorded crimes reached a peak of 15,000,000 in 1995 compared to 4,000,000 recorded
This means almost 75% of crimes were not officially recorded in 1995
In 2015, 4,200,000 crimes were recorded and the CSEW found that 2,000,000 crimes were unrecorded

A

There are certain demographics and areas where crime is recorded much more frequently than others
- Working class males
- Urban areas
- Young people (male peak at 18, female peak at 14)
- Against property (70-80%)
