A

The murder occurred inside her room at Miller’s Court (Ripper had more time and there were less suspects: parts of body were strewn around the room)

Q

CAREFUL OBSERVATION- How was this technique used?

A

Constables made sure that the scene of crime was untouched and waited for an inspector to make a careful note of the scene (so that this could later be used in catching the criminal)

Q

CAREFUL OBSERVATION- What made this technique more or less effective?

A

The details of the crime scene and marks/bruises left on the victims body helped identify how the Ripper killed his victims e.g. bruises on neck suggests that they were strangled to death before being cut open

The technique would be more effective if the crime scene remained untouched and vice versa

Q

PHOTOGRAPHY AND SCETCHES-
How was this technique used?

A

The MET’s use of photograph was limited, however pictures were often made before and after a post mortem (autopsy), but this was used more for the recognition of the victim rather than the cause of death
