  1. 8.1 An employee is ordered to C.S.U. by a superior officer or manager. The administration or referring individual will be informed whether the employee is evaluated as having a problem needing treatment and whether the employee is in compliance or non-compliance with the recommended treatment.
  2. 8.2 An individual with a previous voluntary referral seeks assistance for a second time within a three (3) year period. In order to receive treatment, the employee must execute a release of information for the commanding officer concerned or the Commissioner’s designee, depending upon the specific facts of each situation.

B. To have exhausted this treatment opportunity.

The member will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, including the possibility of suspension and/or termination.

Members are encouraged to contact the Counseling Service Unit if they are experiencing
difficulties as a result of a recent tragedy or serious personal problem. A friend, family member, union delegate or supervisor can also seek the assistance of CSU on behalf of a member.
