Q

3 types of data

A
  • Nominal: Categorical data, for example, brown eyes, green eyes, blue eyes.
  • Ordinal: Ordered categories and the distances between the categories is not known e.g., a Likert
scale where one person’s ‘1’ could be different to another person’s ‘1’.
  • Interval/Ratio: Scale data, for example test scores, weight, height, temperature. There are set intervals between each point.
