I: cartilage of costea 5-6-7 and xiphoid process
F: flex the vertebral column

A

O: external surfaces of costea 5-12
I: anterior part of the iliac crest, rectus sheath to linea alba
F: unilaterally
laterally flex vertebral column to the same side
rotate vertebral column to the opposite side

bilaterally
flex the vertebral column
compress abdominal contents

I: internal surface of lower 3 ribs, rectus heath to linea alba
F: Unilaterally
laterally flex vertebral column to the same side
Rotate vertebral column to the same side

Bilaterally:
Flex the vertebral column
Compress abdominal contents
