  • tells atticus when dill runs away from home which scout said was “breaking the remaining code of our childhood”
  • strong moral compass like atticus
  • understand that the court case should be in public and that the discrimination in Maycomb is wrong
  • after tom robinsons court case he understands the importance of protecting the weak - stops scout from killing an insect

  • destroying Miss Dubose Camellias because she insulted atticus and their family but then he does later realise this is wrong and read to miss dubsose every night
  • refuses to go home and keave atticus outside jail w lynch mob
