What is the RCVS?

Conduct falling short of what is expected of the profession

Stage 1: Preliminary Investigation Committee
Stage 2: RVN Preliminary Investigation Committee
Stage 3: RVN Disciplinary Committee hearing
What is criminal law?
Punishment of offences that broke the law to protect individuals and prevent harm to others
What is civil law?
Addressing harm or loss to an individual brought about by another person or organisation
What is civil law of contract?
A breach of contract is when the contract falls short of the agreed terms
What is civil law of tort?
Civil wrong resulting in unfair loss or harm to another
What is defamation?
Damage to a reputations of a person or group by saying or writing bad things about them which is not true
What is a libel?
A piece of writing which contains bad and false things about a person
