Tool used to stimulate emotional response from Scrooge by taking him back to his childhood where we see that he wasn’t always a bad person- brings hope to the reader as well as making us sympathetic of the bad treatment from his father so that we are routing for his transformation and are also encouraged to undergo our own transformation. The ghosts appearance is very dominant and in ignorable with its bright light showing that Scrooge cannot ignore the truth of his selfish actions but instead must be guided through a journey of transformation
