  • As they cannot move.

What does a sacralised lumbar vertebrae mean?

A
  • When there is one less lumbar vertebrae.
  • As it can be fused to the sacrum.
  • This can occur the other way round too.

What are invertebral discs?

A
  • Located between the vertebrae.
  • Consists of a gel-like aspect called the nucleus pulposus.
  • As well as annulus fibrosis + vertebral endplate.
  • They link the vertebrae together.

  • Are synovial joints.
  • Between the superior articular process of one vertebrae.
  • And the inferior articular process of another vertebrae.
  • They are covered with articular cartilage.
