What is the function of the intervertebral discs between the sacral bones?
A
- Do not have a function.
- As they cannot move.

What does a sacralised lumbar vertebrae mean?
A
- When there is one less lumbar vertebrae.
- As it can be fused to the sacrum.
- This can occur the other way round too.

What are invertebral discs?
A
- Located between the vertebrae.
- Consists of a gel-like aspect called the nucleus pulposus.
- As well as annulus fibrosis + vertebral endplate.
- They link the vertebrae together.

What are zygapophyseal joints?
A
- Are synovial joints.
- Between the superior articular process of one vertebrae.
- And the inferior articular process of another vertebrae.
- They are covered with articular cartilage.

Exit above the vertebrae.

- Exits through the intervertebral foramen.
