RP making salts Flashcards

1
Q

method

A
  1. measure 20 cm³ sulfuric acid into a measuring cylinder and pour into a beaker
  2. heat gently using a bunsen burner
  3. add small amounts of copper oxide in excess until no more reacts/no more effervescence
  4. filter the solution using filter paper and a funnel
  5. pour solution into evaporating basin
  6. heat over a bunsen burner until crystals start to form
  7. leave basin in a cool place for 24 hours
  8. gently pat dry
